  • Date : 2019-06-07

- Selected as one of the 15 medical institutions nationwide
- This shows that its rapid inpatient response system has been highly recognized

Mediplex Sejong Hospital was selected as a "Rapid Response System Pilot Project Organization" by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on May 1 (Wed).

Mediplex Sejong Hospital has once again proved its rapid response system as it has been designated as the only secondary hospital (general hospital) in Incheon and southwest Gyeonggi area among the implementing organizations, most of which are a tertiary general hospital (advanced general hospital).

The rapid response system is a system that prevents cardiac arrest or death by taking immediate medical measures when an unanticipated acute exacerbation occurs or is expected to patients in a general ward.

Mediplex Sejong Hospital established a rapid response system for the first time as a secondary hospital to protect the safety of hospitalized patients and set a new example of a rapid response system for secondary hospitals when it opened in March 2017. The system is run by specialists only without interns and residents, and Sejong Hospital is the only secondary hospital that operates a rapid response system until now.

Mediplex Sejong Hospital will continue to enhance the safety of our patients by participating in the national rapid response system program and thereby promoting the quality of our rapid response system. In addition, based on our experiences in the operation of the system since 2017, we will strive to evaluate the operation costs of the rapid response system and develop the Korean standard model, contribute to the standardization of high-risk patient classification criteria and activation guidance, and reduce the mortality rate of patients in general wards and improve treatment results.
