Achieved the first grade for 4 consecutive CABG surgeries for the first case among general hospitals


Sejong General Hospital received the first grade in the ‘CABG Adequacy Assessment’ on ischemic heart diseases for 9 consecutive years(2008-2016), which was conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. It has established Sejong as a cardiac disease-specialized hospital once again since it was the first general hospital that has ever achieved the first grade for 4 consecutive times.
 
CABG, which requires complex techniques, and its result including death rate highly depend on doctor’s experiences and the strict medical process. As a result of the assessment conducted from October 2015 to September 2016, Sejong General Hospital obtained the first grade with a total of 101.1 points, exceeding the average score of all hospitals 93 points, on the following categories: the number of CABG, usage rate of internal thoracic artery upon operation, reoperation rate due to complications, death rate within 30 days after operation, length of hospitalization after operation. This proved that Sejong’s medical staffs have high level of competence and know-how.
 
While conducting heart transplants with high level of difficulty, succeeding the first robot heart surgery in Bucheon area, and succeeding 3D endoscope heart surgery for the first time in Korea, Sejong Hospital continues to make history in the heart disease field, being responsible for the healthy heart of Korean people for 35 years.
